When Sweep was founded in 2020, they began working with Deel from essentially the beginning of their journey. Rachel Delacour, CEO and Co-Founder of Sweep, recalls the global hiring process before Deel. “Ten years ago, while managing my previous company, I realized I had to internationalize my team. Hiring people outside Europe was a real pain—a nightmare because of regulations. I wanted to scale the business quickly, but the global hiring process without an EOR (Employer of Record) wasn’t scalable at all,” said Delacour.
Delacour a reconnu qu’elle ne trouverait peut-être pas tous les talents experts dont elle avait besoin dans son pays d’origine, elle a donc commencé à se tourner vers d’autres pays pour pourvoir des postes. Cependant, le télétravail n'était pas une option à l'époque, et relocaliser un employé d'un autre pays serait une tâche quasiment impossible qui demanderait beaucoup d'énergie, de temps et d'argent à Delacour et aux candidats.
Elle voulait embaucher quelqu’un du Kazakhstan qui conviendrait parfaitement à l’entreprise. Mais à cause de la bureaucratie, des difficultés liées à l’administration fiscale et à la relocalisation, elle n’a pas pu les embaucher.
La solution
La solution qui a tout transformé
When Sweep was founded during the 2020 lockdown, they needed to start a remote international team from scratch, as the problem they solve is global. Delacour thought this would be a massive challenge in terms of time, money, and resources. When she learned about employer of record services and Deel's EOR solution, suddenly it was clear how simple it could be to grow with a global team. Now their workforce would be aligned and scale with the global SaaS potential of Sweep.
"Being able to work remotely with a global team [has] been super transformative for me. I can now get access to top talent without asking them to relocate, and without my company necessarily being an enterprise. My team and any applicant can stay in their home country while enjoying working for Sweep. I’ve been able to hire in London easily, Bulgaria, the United States, and more. Every company and every talent now has the same chance. Everything is possible." said Delacour.
Sweep uses Deel's EOR and Contractor solutions to hire both employees and contractors and loves how easy it is to use the platform. Cecile Bussy, Communications and Content Manager at Sweep, explained, “I definitely appreciate that the platform is very user friendly, but I mostly like the flexibility it provides… for me, knowing that if I want to leave the UK, I would still be able to keep working at Sweep is fantastic."

Delacour remembers how only a few years ago that anytime she wanted to recruit a team in the United Kingdom or the United States, she had to consider setting up a subsidiary with an accountant, lawyers, bank account, local GM, and more. Now she doesn’t have to worry about any of those things. She can start hiring in those countries in just a few clicks to test the business strategy locally before setting up any subsidiary.
