Algrano, a B2B marketplace connecting coffee producers directly with roasters, has been remote-first since its founding in 2015. Its mission to build lasting relationships in the coffee world was powered by a global team hired wherever the best talent could be found. But as the company scaled, its HR infrastructure couldn't keep up. The system was a fragmented patchwork of disconnected tools and manual processes.

When Co-founder and CTO Christian Burri looked at Algrano’s operations, the challenges were clear:

  • Multiple systems: Different vendors for payroll, PEO, and freelancers.
  • No visibility: Managers couldn’t access basic info across countries.
  • Messy workflows: Reviews ran on spreadsheets, eating up 10% of one role. Hiring lacked consistency across teams.

Algrano was already using Deel for a few EOR employees. But the team quickly saw the opportunity to go further. Deel had grown beyond compliance and employment infrastructure into a full-stack global HR platform. Algrano chose to go all-in.

Algrano is consolidating its entire team onto Deel, migrating US employees to Deel PEO, Swiss employees to Deel Payroll, and their international freelancers to Deel Contractor.

At the core is Deel’s global HRIS—a centralized command center for the team’s operations. Managers finally have visibility, and employees can manage everything in one place, no matter where they work.
