To hire a foreign national in Spain, you need to ensure that they obtain a work permit. This means they must be employed by a Spanish entity and go through the lengthy immigration process. The employee can only start working:
- When in Spain, holding an entry Visa or
- With an approval letter from the immigration countries when already in the country.
Employees in need of a change of employer, visa renewal, transfer or extension can be onboarded with the approval letter and do not need the Residence Permit card to be ready.
