Storing and redeploying with Deel IT: A quick guide

Our Store and Reuse process is available for all applicable devices, whether rented from Deel IT, purchased from us, or acquired from another supplier.

The service fees cover:

  • Device collection, including customs fees
  • Cleaning and repackaging
  • Appraisal and condition grading
  • Repairs/replacements if needed (extra fee)
  • Final digital wipe*
  • Secure storage (monthly fee applies)
  • Optional re-configuration (extra fee)
  • Shipping to the next end-user.**

*Your own devices (BYOD or purchased through Deel) must be wiped before collection - Deel is not liable for data left on devices
**If chargers or adapters are missing, we won’t supply replacements. Please ensure devices are collected along with all necessary accessories.

Storing Deel IT rentals

For devices leased from Deel IT, you can request collection directly from the Deel platform, from the Asset Tracker. Deel handles the logistics, collecting the device from the employee. We then inspect it, securely wipe it, restore it, and store it in a Deel-managed warehouse until you’re ready to deploy it.

Devices can be:

  • Stored locally within the same country or region
  • Stored in a Deel hub (UK, EU, US) and reused across supported regions

While in storage, rental payments continue as per your contract. Our Store and Reuse services come with a one-off collection fee ($200 or $300, depending on location), plus a $20 monthly storage fee after the third month. No hidden costs or surprise extras, making financial planning much easier than juggling multiple vendors and logistics companies.

Storing customer-owned devices

To request Store and Reuse for devices you own, they need to be added to the Deel Asset Tracker.

You have two storage options:

  • Local storage: Store and reuse within the same country or customs region. $200 one-off fee, plus $20 monthly after the third month.
  • Ship to hub: Ship to a Deel warehouse (US, UK, EU) for use within that hub. $350 one-off fee, plus $20 monthly after the third month. Customs fees are included in the service cost, simplifying financial planning. You’ll be prompted to provide the original purchase price of the device, so we can calculate customs.

Requesting storage and redeployment

Within Deel IT, the Asset Tracker serves as your source of truth for all of your devices. From here, you’ll see which devices are currently with workers, which are in transit, and which are in storage and available for redistribution.

To request redeployment, follow a simple step-by-step process:

  • Step 1: Select device
  • Step 2: Choose ‘Assign to Worker’
  • Step 3: Select from the list of eligible workers*
  • Step 4: Confirm logistics and delivery address
  • Step 5: Confirm details and review

Once the reassignment has been confirmed, you’ll be able to track the status of your device from the Asset Tracker. If you’re using our Device Pre-configuration service, devices will be configured before dispatch, arriving ready-to-use for maximum efficiency.

*Workers must be registered in Deel HR or through an integration with your HRIS. They must also have a paid IT seat. For simplicity, you can upgrade a worker to one of your Deel IT policies from inside this workflow.
