Pangaea K1 is our global work model. It answers questions about how global work runs, from leave rules to hiring by country. It answers from what it already knows, instead of searching.
It learned from Deel’s knowledge base of 43,500+ pages on how global work runs.
The result: answers up to 3x faster than AI that searches, with accuracy within five points of the top AI model.

Pangaea P1
Pangaea P1 is our payroll model. It answers payroll questions across countries, from tax caps to filing deadlines.
It learned from expert payroll data built by Emet by Deel, with in-country payroll specialists.
The result: training lifted P1 from 55% to 61% of criteria met on the hardest EmBench Payroll tasks. It does this at about 40x lower cost per answer than the top AI model.

What is Pangaea?
Pangaea is Deel’s family of LLMs for global work. Each model is trained for a different area. Pangaea isn’t built from scratch. It starts from open-weight models, then learns Deel’s knowledge of global work, with training data and tests from Emet by Deel. General AI often has to search before it answers questions about payroll or global work. Pangaea learns that knowledge up front, so it answers faster. Deel trains these models because global work is what Deel knows best, and AI should get that work right.
What are Emet and EmBench?
Emet by Deel is Deel’s AI lab for model evaluation and training, specializing in how businesses run. It’s open to every model builder. It builds tests that show how well AI handles real work, and creates expert data to help AI improve. EmBench is Emet’s set of benchmarks. Each one is built from real global work and checked by Deel’s in-country specialists. Every answer is scored point by point against an expert reference, for the world’s leading AI models and Pangaea alike. The results are public.
What is Pangaea K1?
Pangaea K1 is our global work model. It learned from about 43,500+ pages of Deel’s knowledge on how global work runs. It answers from memory instead of searching, in about 7.7 seconds, compared with 13 to 28 seconds for AI that searches. On EmBench Global Work, it scores within five points of the top AI model tested.
What is Pangaea P1?
Pangaea P1 is our payroll model. It answers payroll questions across countries. It was trained on payroll data built with in-country specialists through Emet by Deel. On the hardest EmBench Payroll questions, training raised the share of payroll criteria it meets from 55% to 61%, at about 40x lower cost per answer than the top AI model.
Is my data used to train Pangaea?
No. Pangaea is trained on Deel’s internal knowledge base: HR policies, SOPs, legal summaries, compliance information, and how-to guides. Customer payroll and HR data is never used.
Does Pangaea replace models like Claude or GPT?
No. General models are built to do many things well. Pangaea is built for one thing: answering global work and payroll questions, using knowledge from running that work every day. It answers up to 3x faster than models that search, at a fraction of the cost.
How much does Pangaea cost?
Pangaea isn’t sold separately. It’s part of AI at Deel.
