Today, we're excited to announce a partnership between Deel, the global-first people platform, and Carta, the leading equity management platform. Together, we're launching an industry-first solution that automates global equity tax withholdings, enabling employees worldwide to exercise their equity with unprecedented ease while ensuring companies stay compliant.

With just a few clicks, companies can now sync equity events from Carta to Deel automatically. When global employees on Deel EOR or Global Payroll exercise their options, Deel will log these transactions, calculate local taxes, and handle payment collection for local authorities across multiple jurisdictions. That means no more manual calculations, no more compliance headaches—just a streamlined, automated process that saves time and increases accuracy.

It’s also a much better employee experience for global equity holders. Normally, it’s a fairly complicated and time consuming process for employees to exercise their options if their employer is overseas. But now, Deel EOR employees covered by this integration can pay for their option exercises in their home currencies, with Deel handling the foreign exchange and ensuring the employee's shares are fully paid, preventing delays associated with USD transfers. 

Deel Equity Updates: More Flexibility and Control

Alongside this integration, we're also announcing significant updates to Deel Equity (formerly Stock Options). You can now add any equity type to Deel; provide detailed information like schedules, grant details, and expiration dates; and access built-in reports on benefits, equity payroll, and more. Plus, with Deel Equity Services, you can delegate all payroll, reporting, and taxable events to Deel, mitigating the risks of "co-employment" requalification when granting equity to EOR employees.
