Minimum Wage Requirements
The minimum salary for 2026 is 44,074 KGS monthly (gross) for Bishkek city. There is no sector-specific minimum wage.
Individual Income Tax
The individual income tax is a flat rate of 10%.
Payroll Cost
The employer cost is generally estimated at 2.25% of the employee salary.
Overtime Pay & Maximum Hours
Standard working hours are 40 hours per week. Legislation allows a 5-day week with 2 days off, or a 6-day week with 1 day off.
Overtime payment is mandatory. Overtime is paid as:
- First 2 hours — 150% of one normal working hour
- Subsequent hours — 200% of one normal working hour
- Weekends — 200% of one normal working hour
- Public holidays — 200% of one normal working hour
At the employee's request, overtime may be compensated with additional time off (not less than the overtime worked) instead of increased pay. Overtime must be requested/authorized by the employer with the employee's written consent, and may not exceed 4 hours over 2 consecutive days.
