How Deel IT and JumpCloud work together

Setup is quick. Management is flexible.

Want to see how it works?

Fast-growing companies run into the same problems. Someone joins the team, but their account isn’t ready. Someone leaves, but still has access to sensitive tools. HR and IT systems fall out of sync, and the gaps get bigger as teams expand globally.

With the new deep integration between Deel and JumpCloud, that’s about to change.

Launched in September 2024, Deel IT is our end-to-end global IT services platform. It provides device supply and management, alongside IT services such as software provisioning, app access management, and integrations with MDM and identity tools.

What makes the Deel x JumpCloud integration unique is how it links IT identity and access management directly to HR records. Actions like hiring, offboarding, or changing roles in Deel now automatically trigger account provisioning, group updates, and access policies in JumpCloud.

Now, all the identity, access, and device controls that make JumpCloud so powerful are available directly within Deel. IT teams can manage accounts, apply policies, and keep infrastructure secure, all from the same platform they already use to manage their global workforce.

It’s built for scale, yet simple to manage. Whether you're hiring contractors in Brazil, onboarding EOR employees in Germany, or managing laptops across three continents, everything stays in sync. Automatically.

Designed for scaling teams

Our integration was designed to help teams manage complexities like:

  • Hiring across borders, time zones, and contract types
  • Onboarding and offboarding at scale
  • Balancing security with speed and ease of access

If your IT team is buried in manual provisioning tasks or your HR team is constantly chasing device returns, we can help. And if you’re trying to move toward a Zero Trust model, this gives you a clean, policy-driven foundation to build on.

How Deel IT and JumpCloud work together

At its core, the integration keeps user identity and access fully aligned with HR records. When someone joins, leaves, or changes roles in Deel, their status is automatically reflected in JumpCloud.

Provisioning, updates, and deactivation all happen in real time, without anyone having to file a ticket.

You decide which user details sync: job title, department, cost center, employee type, and more. You also define when accounts should be created or suspended, based on employment status and timing.

It’s a clean handoff from HR to IT. No double entry. No delays.

A single source of truth for user provisioning

The core value of the integration is simple: Deel becomes the source of truth, and JumpCloud follows. When someone joins, leaves, or changes roles in Deel, those updates are reflected instantly in JumpCloud.

User accounts are automatically created, updated, or deactivated. No double handling. No waiting for someone in IT to catch up.

This reduces human error and closes security gaps that often result from lagging offboarding or inconsistent access permissions.

Admins can define provisioning rules based on employment events, such as start dates, end dates, or status changes. You can also specify which attributes sync across platforms, including job title, department, employee type, cost center, and more. The process is real-time, not batch-based, so access rights stay aligned with actual employment status.

Custom field mapping and dynamic group sync

The integration includes robust field mapping. You choose what to sync and how it should appear in JumpCloud. Whether you’re using standard HR attributes or custom fields tailored to your internal structure, you can configure the mapping one-to-one or adapt it to match your IT taxonomy.

For more advanced use cases, dynamic groups offer a clean way to manage access control. Groups created in Deel, based on filters like team, role, region, or employment type, can be pushed directly into JumpCloud. These groups then drive access to tools, networks, and devices, based on membership logic that’s already defined in HR.

It’s a major time-saver for companies that operate in multiple countries or have a mix of full-time, EOR, and contractor hires. Instead of building access lists from scratch or maintaining them manually, groups follow the logic of your organizational structure, and they stay up to date automatically.

Centralized device management with prebuilt security policies

Beyond access and identity, JumpCloud lets you enforce security policies across your device fleet: macOS, Windows, and Linux included.

You can push over 150 policies out of the box:

  • Full disk encryption
  • Firewall settings
  • Lock screen and password policies
  • OS-level controls

Policies can be tied to the same groups that sync from Deel. For example, all new engineers in North America can get a baseline security policy the moment they’re added to Deel. No waiting, no follow-up.

It’s a scalable way to manage devices, especially when your IT team is remote or lean.

Optional SSO configuration

The integration also supports SAML-based single sign-on via JumpCloud. This allows employees to log into applications with one set of credentials, reducing friction while maintaining control.

Deel admins can enable SSO directly from the Deel dashboard by pasting JumpCloud’s metadata link into the SAML settings. From there, users can be granted or denied access to specific applications based on group membership, department, or other synced attributes.

SSO makes the login experience cleaner for employees while giving IT more control over app access and authentication workflows.

Setup is quick. Management is flexible.

Connecting the platforms is straightforward. Admins generate an API key in JumpCloud, then enter it in Deel’s App Store under the JumpCloud integration. From there, they can configure provisioning rules, map fields, and define sync criteria. The integration supports daily auto-syncs and manual syncs when needed.

Activity logs, sync history, and error messages are visible directly within Deel, making it easy to monitor performance and troubleshoot without switching tools.

For companies that want to offload the day-to-day, Deel also offers a managed IT service. This includes full hands-on management of your JumpCloud environment, including provisioning, monitoring, policy setup, and troubleshooting, handled by Deel’s in-house experts. Licenses for JumpCloud can be purchased directly through Deel, simplifying vendor management.
