From Global Platform to Global Impact
From day one, Deel has been on a mission to unlock opportunity for anyone, anywhere. Now, as we scale globally, we’re formalizing that commitment through Deel Impact—our effort to make a positive difference in the world around us.
With our success comes responsibility—beyond building great products. We recognize the importance of trust, transparency, and thoughtful action across everything we do. Environmental and social impact have shaped Deel since the start—our co-founders brought with them experience in nonprofit and clean tech engineering, which continues to inform how we grow today.
What Is Deel Impact?
Deel Impact is how we turn Deel’s global scale into meaningful action – through a focused commitment to building a more sustainable and inclusive future of work. More than a campaign, it’s the new home for all of Deel’s mission-aligned work across three pillars:
- 🫶 Community & Product – External impact: business customers, the global workforce they support, and Deel’s platform role in enabling opportunity
- 👥 People – Internal impact: Deel team experience, including culture, engagement, inclusion, growth, and team member-driven initiatives like giving
- ♻️ Environment – Carbon footprint, sustainability efforts, and compliance
Deel Impact signals to our customers, team, and the millions of workers we support that we’re not focused on short-term wins—we’re investing in long-term, transformative change. And we know expectations are high. We’re proud to show what it means to grow responsibly.
A New Kind of Global Giving
Traditional corporate ESG (environmental, social, and governance) strategies don’t easily map to a remote-first company with no physical offices or massive supply chains. But Deel has never followed a traditional playbook.
So we asked ourselves, what does responsibility look like for a global HR platform built to be borderless? We started with a company-wide giving campaign, offering every Deeler a say in where funds should go.
This year, we committed $145,000 USD to three mission-aligned nonprofits:
- 🌍 Talent Beyond Boundaries: Helping skilled refugees safely and legally migrate to countries where they can work and rebuild their lives—aligning with Deel’s mission to unlock opportunity across borders.
- 🌱 Kiva: Expanding access to microloans and financial tools that fuel entrepreneurship and economic mobility in underserved communities—echoing our commitment to support small businesses and remote talent.
- 🌊 The Ocean Cleanup: Developing and scaling technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic, helping to protect and restore marine ecosystems— sustainability goals that align with our remote-first, low-footprint model.
The Road Ahead
We’re just getting started, and Deel Impact is part of a long-term vision to grow in ways that are sustainable, inclusive, and aligned with our global mission.
In the coming months, we’ll continue shaping Deel Impact as a home for select social impact initiatives, our first-ever public impact report, early-stage work on environmental metrics and disclosures, and ongoing opportunities for Deelers to get involved.
As we move forward, we’ll prioritize transparency, authenticity, and meaningful contributions to the communities we serve. After all, a platform built to support global work is best when it works for the global good.
Let’s keep building—together.
