One Year of Deel IT: How We Got Here and Where We’re Headed

One year ago Hofy joined Deel.
It was the beginning of Deel IT, built on the idea that companies should be able to manage all their IT needs for a global workforce in one centralized place.
Hofy brought the expertise and infrastructure to get devices anywhere in the world quickly and reliably. Deel brought the technology, integrations, and global network to take that capability to a whole new level.
The early days
In the months after the acquisition, everything moved quickly. We took Hofy’s proven logistics operation and connected it to Deel’s HRIS, workflow automation, and security tools. The aim was to create one seamless experience for IT and HR teams, from hiring to offboarding.
Early in the integration, before we had fully migrated into Deel, a customer asked if they could order devices through Hofy but have them automatically logged in their Deel HRIS records. It was the first time we connected the two systems for a live customer order. When it worked, it felt like a small glimpse of the future we were building: one place to manage it all.
By the end of that first quarter, device delivery, security configuration, and app provisioning were working together for the first time inside Deel, setting the stage for the full platform to follow. It wasn’t the finished product yet, but it was already an engine in motion.

What the past year revealed
The most valuable lessons came directly from our customers. Listening to their challenges through conversations, onboarding, and direct feedback helped shape Deel IT.
- Onboarding delays cost more than time. When devices arrive late or without the right apps, new hires are left waiting and first days fall flat. Manual setup often meant security and compliance weren’t guaranteed.
- HR and IT are often the same person. In many companies, one person manages the entire device process: choosing models, arranging international shipping, and finding replacements when something breaks. It is time-consuming and pulls focus from other priorities.
- Managing IT globally gets overwhelming quickly. Hiring across countries means juggling vendors, navigating customs, and dealing with inconsistent security standards. Even getting a simple replacement could take weeks.
- Small inefficiencies pile up fast. Devices went missing after offboarding, sat idle in storage (or in the CEO’s home), or took weeks to reassign. Security updates often lagged because no one had the time.

Filtered, a content intelligence platform, was losing time and momentum during onboarding due to delivery delays, duplicate shipments, and logistics issues with their previous provider.
After switching to Deel IT, onboarding time dropped by 80%. Equipping a new hire now takes just 10 minutes instead of hours, and 100% of orders arrive on time, including urgent one-day laptop deliveries for immediate starters.

A customer-driven vision for global IT
The challenges we saw in our customers’ operations shaped how we built Deel IT. It is one connected system that removes those friction points by handling every step of the process: getting people the tech they need, keeping it secure, and recovering it when they leave.
Here is what it does:
- Get devices to people anywhere: buy or lease laptops and other equipment, set them up in advance, and deliver them quickly in 130+ countries
- Keep devices secure: make sure every laptop or phone has the right security settings, passwords, and updates from the moment it is turned on
- Manage access to software: give people the tools and apps they need on day one, and remove access immediately when they leave
- Protect company data: track devices, monitor their health, and wipe them remotely if needed
- Provide round-the-clock help: answer questions, fix issues, and send loaner devices when repairs are needed
Because it all runs in one place, HR and IT teams can see what equipment each person has, track its status, and act quickly. A new hire can open their laptop and start working right away. When someone leaves, their device can be collected, cleaned, and sent to the next person without delay.
The result is less manual work, faster onboarding, and a secure, consistent experience for every employee, anywhere in the world.
Our plan for year two
Year one was about building. Year two is about scaling.
We have the foundation in place: a global logistics and IT engine that works anywhere and for any team size. Now the focus shifts to making Deel IT even faster, smarter, and more deeply embedded in the way companies run their people operations.
In year two, we are:
- Expanding delivery speed in regions where days still matter
- Adding more integrations so Deel IT works seamlessly with the tools like ITSMs and procurement platforms our customers already use
- Creating new ways for HR and IT to share data and automate more of their everyday work.
- Strengthening security and compliance product offering so companies can operate globally without compromise
- Continuing to improve the experience for every end user, from the new hire receiving their laptop to the IT manager tracking thousands of devices at once
We know global IT will only get more complex as teams become more distributed. That is why year two is about proving that complexity can be managed without slowing down growth. Every shipment, every login, and every integration is part of the story we are building, where global IT becomes a competitive advantage rather than a barrier.
