Today we’re launching Deel Security, workforce identity security for companies hiring remotely or globally. It connects key identity signals from application through employment into one record, and flags risk for human review inside the tools your Security and HR teams already use.
Remote work changed the world. A company in one country can now hire the best person for the job in another, and where you live no longer decides where you can work.
But as hiring has become more open, it has also become easier to exploit. AI can now fake a CV, a face, a voice, and a government ID in minutes, and it’s getting harder to know who’s really on the other side of the screen.
Today we're launching Deel Security, workforce identity security that connects key identity signals from the first application through employment and flags risks before bad actors gain access to your business.

The hidden reality of hiring fraud
Increasingly, bad actors don't need to hack their way into a company because they can get hired. In one scheme alone, the US Department of Justice found that remote IT workers used 68 stolen identities to land jobs at more than 300 US companies.
The trouble is, fraudulent hires rarely raise an obvious red flag. Instead, there are clues along the way: a week-old email address on an application, a different face in the technical interview, or an MFA reset request from someone who isn't the person you hired. Each one can seem minor on its own, making the bigger picture easy to miss.
Each signal lands in a different tool, and no one connects them. But one missed signal can snowball fast. A fraudulent hire can get credentials, a company laptop, and access to internal systems. When the audit committee asks what happened, the evidence is spread across five systems.
And the threat is growing. Gartner predicts that by 2028, one in four candidate profiles worldwide will be fake. In July 2026, the FBI and international partners issued a joint advisory warning organizations about state-sponsored remote IT workers using stolen identities to gain access to company systems.
Meet Deel Security
Deel Security helps your team spot a bad actor before they get access to your systems. It assesses identity and looks for signs of fraud from application through employment and beyond.
Instead of treating each check as a separate step, Deel Security brings the findings together in one place. Your team can see how risks develop across the hiring process and spot patterns that individual checks might miss.

Before the hire, Deel Security flags fake applications, detects deepfakes and proxy candidates in live interviews, and verifies government ID with a liveness check at offer. After the hire, re-verify identity at the moments attackers target: password resets, new devices, and high-risk access requests.
The results come together in a single candidate risk profile, giving recruiters a clear risk level and security teams the supporting evidence. Deel fraud experts review every high-risk alert and explain why it was flagged.
We use it for our own hiring. Every Deel candidate goes through these same checks, and now any company hiring remotely or globally can use them too.

Works with the stack you already have
Deel Security works inside Deel ATS, Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workday, Tracker, and Okta, so no one has to change how they work.
Hire real people
