Today marks a big milestone for Deel Contractor (formerly Deel Contractor Management) as we celebrate its fifth anniversary. Over the past five years, we’ve helped enable seamless collaboration between companies and independent contractors, with more than 35,000 customers using Deel Contractor to save a total of 18,000 years on onboarding and 12,500 years processing contractor payments. But, most importantly, we’ve helped over 500,000 contractors work with some of the world’s best companies while ensuring an exceptional and compliant experience.

As we launch into the next 5 years of Deel Contractor, we wanted to put a spotlight on the 5 most groundbreaking features we’ve rolled out in the last 5 years. From our early days as a compliant contractor payment platform to launching the very first Continuous Compliance offering, each has shaped the Deel you know today.

1. Onboarding international contractors at scale

Five years ago, there was no readymade solution for those juggling multiple onboardings in different countries. We built an intuitive and flexible onboarding flow that automates manual tasks and reduces onboarding to 2 minutes.

We started with compliance from onboarding and built a simple yet comprehensive flow that helps companies avoid compliance risks from day one. We introduced on-platform localized contractors and compliance docs to meet local legal requirements, KYC processes and the only tool that makes it possible to run background checks globally in just a few clicks making us already the most advanced compliance offering in the market. Continuous Compliance was the next step. We launched the Compliance Hub that enables any team to track and stay ahead of legislative changes and misclassification risks to ensure HR and payroll compliance wherever you hire.
